Hey hello, you have found my internet lair. Here's my little "manifesto", I suppose. Computers and the internet have been very important to me all my life. My first computer was a Compaq Presario CQ50, a gift from my dad in 2008. It was a laptop but it functioned as our primary family computer until 2016 when my mom got a laptop of her own, and I kept using the Compaq until the screen came off of its hinges in 2021. Yes I was still browsing the internet in the 2020s with 1gb of RAM. I loved it dearly and it kinda hurt me to have to put it out of its misery LOL. That laptop and I grew up together. Anyway!

I'm no computer nerd, but I've loved going online since I was a kid and spent all my time on girlsgogames and any MMO I could get my hands on. I loved making movies in Movie Maker that I would email to my family. I didn't know you had to export the videos, so I sent everyone the project file, and because they didn't have the pictures I used to make the movies, they would see a blank screen, lol. I also loved making slideshows, which I would also email, and more than anything, I particularly loved using Microsoft Onenote 2007 as a digital scrapbook. I would collect clippings from dress up games, downloadable wallpapers and coloring pages, screenshots from shows... I'd write my own recipes and my own stories, mostly fanfiction for the shows I loved. And this site is a continuation of that. (Uh, not the fanfiction. I'm a terrible writer now.) This is just a slightly more customized digital scrapbook, and this time other people can see it. I think the internet is wonderful because of that.

I have a lot of issues with social media and how hostile it is, so I've stopped using it, (aside from my Tumblr blog, because I think it's still quite easy to have fun on that website). Social media is designed to keep you there for as long as possible so you can look at more ads while they harvest all of your data. It incentivizes outrage and crazy unhealthy discourse, there's no room for important nuanced conversations. I think it's very sinister. But, I still like going online. It's fun to go on the computer. It's fun to go on websites. So I made a website! It was originally going to be a story bible of sorts for my original characters, but I never got to it and just made it my personal website instead.

I made this website on April 2019, when I was a month shy of turning 16. So it has grown with me! My woeful teenage blog posts are long gone, though. For good reasons... Anyway, I love taking care of this website. I love reading other people's websites. I do benefit from a lot of modern tech, but I still love going on old websites, both from my childhood and from before my time. I still play all the girly flash games I was obsessed with as a kid. I still use older software, though now that I have this website, I only now use OneNote 2007 to plan my original fiction, haha. So that's why I'm here.

But enough about that, who AM I???? My name is Alexia but everyone calls me Ale for short. I'm a 22 year old girl and I recently dropped out of university to pursue my lifelong passion of sitting in my house doing nothing productive. Just kidding, I work from time to time. I work as a translator. I'm from Venezuela and my first language is Spanish but I've been learning English since I was 4 and I've kind of made it my life's mission to become perfect at the language. I speak English online partly out of habit, because the internet played a big part at improving my fluency, but also to "separate" my real life and online selves.

I enjoy bus rides, walking around the city, sitting in my room, sleeping, going on the computer, drawing, making silly crafts and chatting with my online friends. My favorite color is yellow. I also like olive green, orange, violet and blue. I love cooking, I love creating characters in my head and thinking of their stories (but I suck at writing, so they mostly stay in my heads and drafts that will never see the light of day). A guilty pleasure of mine is reading bad fanfiction.

And of course, my favorite thing in the world is listening to music. Some people are obsessed with shows, some people are obsessed with movies, but I'm obsessed with music and bands! I love power pop, alternative rock, grunge, new wave, funk, metal, ska, disco, and a little bit of electronic music, though I'm extremely picky with it. I mostly listen to older music from before the 2000s. I don't vibe a lot with the way modern music sounds. Nothing personal, I just prefer the sound of older production and mixing and analog instruments.

I'm a Taurus, I don't believe in astrology but it's really funny to me how much of a stereotypical Taurus I am. I'm lazy, hedonistic and stubborn. The only stereotypical Taurus trait I don't have is being a hard worker, LOL. Leo moon and Aquarius rising if you care about that stuff. I don't know what it says about me but you're welcome to make your own assumptions if you're an astrology person. I personally just see it as silly stuff akin to a personality quiz.

My life is honestly pretty boring. I don't go outside much and at this point I don't really have real life friends (clearly.) So I just dump all my thoughts online. I think at this point I'm more of a person on the computer than in real life. This is probably a problem. I hope someday I can get the money to travel more and experience more things.
