3-17-22: viacom hire me challenge

This dream was the result of a sweaty and uncomfortable nap I took during a heatwave while my power was out. So yeah. It was about a Garfield animated sitcom, animated in the exact style of the comics. It looked like those flash animated TV cartoons of the 2010s, but in the Garfield art style of course.

This show mostly centered around Jon and the other human characters, with Garfield being there mostly to deliver witty punchlines or make pop culture references, much like the original Jon comic strips from '76 that preceeded Garfield, but without the... 70s-ness... of it all. Lyman was there, Irma was there, but weirdly enough Liz was nowhere to be seen, instead her role was taken over this redhead girl. She had a ponytail like Blossom from the Powerpuff Girls, and she dressed exactly like Jeannie from I Dream Of Jeannie. She might've been cosplaying her at all times. She also had a twin sister, but rarely appeared, I guess to make her even more reminiscent of Jeannie. But whatever.

Little snippets of potential episodes flashed in my head. There was one episode where Jon, Garfield, Odie and the redhead girl went on a camping trip, where they found an abandoned pirate ship and found the redhead girl's twin sister. There was another where Jon and Garfield made weird recipes from the internet and went to the diner to show them to Irma. A running gag in the show was Garfield breaking the fourth wall and making fun of live-action sitcoms for having characters who aged, specifically dunking on Good Luck Charlie (remember that show?) for some reason. His reasoning was that since they were animated they didn't have to age, and that Jon has been 30 for almost 50 years.

It was also implied during these episodes that Jon and Lyman were in some sort of relationship. The redhead girl kept asking Jon if he "was going to make out with Lyman for the third time". It was kinda weird how much she brought that up. I don't know what that was all about.

In conclusion, what I learned from this dream is that I think they should hire me to write a new Garfield TV series. I could make Jon gay.
