5-5-22: homestar runner reboot?
I'm a big fan of Homestar Runner if you couldn't tell. It's very funny and extremely quotable. And while the series is not exactly... Dead, my brain decided to make up a hypothetical H*R "reboot" while i was asleep anyway.
It started fairly simple. It had the same cast of characters we all know and love. Specifically, the first scene started with Homestar, Strong Sad, Coach Z, Bubs, Marzipan and The Cheat. They were all hanging out at The Stick, talking about celebrating some weird, vague party. Coach Z had a more normal voice, and he wasn't mispronouncing too many words he'd usually mispronounce in canon. There was a throwaway line about Bubs' third divorce.
After that, Strong Bad appeared. He said he was there to go pick up The Cheat. The Cheat made an angry noise at him, and the rest of the characters laughed. Strong Bad kicked him in response. Pretty normal behavior for a Homestar Runner episode.
And then... Homsar appeared.
Now, Homsar is one of my favorite characters in the show. He's funny, he's just vibing, and he's arguably one of the most tolerable people to be around considering everyone in the main cast is kind of a jerk. So you'd think my brain would craft a wonderful rendition of this funny little guy, right? Well.
His signature "DaAaAaAAaAaA-" sound was heard, but he was offscreen. And then he walked in, but instead of being the small and pudgy bootleg-Homestar-looking guy we all know and love, he was a full on human being. He looked like your average white boy animated character. Very tall, brownish-red hair. He wore a blue sweater and his little hat still. But the thing is, while everyone else was animated in Flash, this Human Homsar was drawn in the Family Guy style, and animated in GoAnimate. It was really weird and uncanny and made me say "wow! Homestar Runner jumped the shark!"
None of the other characters commented on this. They just accepted it as normal. A few minutes in total silence passed, and then Homsar walked away. I woke up after.
