i think garfield needs no introduction. i love garfield so much and it brings me unbelievable amounts of joy! even if i couldn't really tell you why... i just love garf!

i love the comic strips of course, yes they're kind of unfunny but they're just neat to me. especially the older ones from the seventies and eighties.

my favorite comic strips:
9-16-19783-22-19791-26-19803-29-19998-12-20114-14-19798-10-19924-26-19874-25-19808-12-1990

garf merch i own: two plushies (one authentic, one bootleg), a pencil case and a blanket.

i think garfield gets kind of a bad rap. it's not without its problems of course, but i feel like all the ironic memes and gorefield stuff have tainted the general public's perception of garfield, and that makes me kinda sad. i don't think garfield is some sort of beast, and i don't think jon is a bad dude. they're just a wacky guy, his cat and dog and girlfriend and friends.

speaking of friends, check out my shrine for my favorite garfield character.

garfield stuff by me:
Jon Arbuckle is autistic, trans and bi: a powerpoint about...well, exactly what it says on the tin. kind of a joke but also kinda not.
Garfield art style evolution: a very biased exploration of the art style changes in garfield.
Jon Arbuckle was dancing in the lesbian bar (AMV of Jon dancing, set to "I Was Dancing In The Lesbian Bar" by Jonathan Richman)
