Early Life

Kadie's parents met at the 2119 Moonstock festival, her father being one of the last 5 people to buy tickets for the event. Kadie herself would be born five years later in August of 2124, and her parents wouldn't have any more children after her. She was born with pink eyes, a genetic mutation from her mother's side of her family, who have been living on the Moon since the late 21st century.

In the alternate timeline created by Kadie and her friends time traveling to attend Moonstock, they accidentally prevented her parents from meeting. Kadie's father ended up having three children with someone else. The whereabouts of her mother in this timeline are unknown.

During her early childhood, Kadie's parents got jobs as delivery drivers around the Solar System, which provided her with various opportunities to travel to other planets. At age 10, during a trip to Jupiter's moons, she took off her helmet for a couple seconds to sneeze, and ended up getting a respiratory infection from inhaling dust particles. Thankfully, she was able to get healed without any problem, but being bedridden for a week taught her a lesson about space safety. That experience almost made her parents stop taking her on trips, but she was able to convince them to let her keep traveling with them.

Kadie and her parents settled back down on their house on the Moon when she started high school, where she developed a passion for computers. She was one of the top students in her class. During her vacation periods, she kept traveling around the Solar System on her own. She always wanted to visit Earth, but circumstances would always spoil her plans of traveling there. She graduated at the age of 17.

Higher Education

Kadie entered the University of Pluto in 2141, majoring in computer science. She spent most of her free time at the comic book store, and bought several collectibles and copies of the popular comic series "Interstellar Ranger Syd", and attended several Comic Cons cosplaying as the titular character. She met a Martian girl named Tal in the comic book store, bonding over their love for geeky things and comics. They ended up becoming best friends.

However, in her junior year, Kadie felt that Tal was becoming too brash and inconsiderate, which she communicated to her and it led to a very dramatic falling out, as Tal felt that Kadie was becoming too soft and mellow. Tal dropped out of college shortly after, and they didn't see each other again.

During her last year of studies, she found a Plutonian cat on an University alleyway, who snuggled up to her almost immediately. Kadie kept him and named him Void. Kadie graduated at the age of 21, also being one of the top students in her graduating class. She decided to return home on the Moon after graduation, where she overheard about the Terran Space Station opening and looking for personnel.

Life Aboard the Station

Kadie joined the crew of the Terran Space Station in 2145, about a week after it opened. Her first assignment was performing a software upgrade for the ordering computers at Nel's Diner. Later on in the day, she was assigned to Arista and Solèy's crew quarters to upgrade their computer software. The three of them became friends after Kadie helped Arista with an internal problem in her internal software matrix. Later, she met Gli'x and Alexei when Gli'x asked her for help calibrating their translator badge. The next day, the crew members from Main Base on Earth added a program to the station computers as a prank, and Kadie was tasked to purge the program from the station's internal servers.

Kadie took Void into the station, who generally stayed on her crew quarters. When he managed to escape, he usually ended up in the lower floors of the station, near the laboratories and engineering sections. Kadie would routinely go on excursions and collect souvenirs from the locations the crew would visit. However, one time, one of her souvenirs ended up having dangerous amounts of lead which went undetected by the bio-safety crew by accident. Thankfully, Gli'x ate it before Kadie's exposure to lead exceeded safety limits.

Another time, Kadie picked up a time-travel device, which she used to attend Moonstock 2119 with her friends, which she had heard about from her parents' anecdotes. Unfortunately, since they were the last five people to buy tickets, they unknowingly prevented Kadie's father from getting into the event, preventing him from meeting Kadie's mother, which meant they also prevented Kadie from being born. When the rest of her friends realized Kadie didn't exist anymore, they had to find their timeline-altering mistake, and then travel back in time to fix the timeline and bring Kadie back. When asked what ceasing to exist felt like, Kadie said she didn't even notice it.

About a year after being assigned to the station, Kadie and Tal met again, after the latter was staying on the station while hunting down a supposed saboteur. Tal tried to rope Kadie into her shenanigans, but Kadie kept declining since she insisted she was busy with work. This encounter didn't rekindle their friendship, in fact it only drove them further apart.

A couple weeks later, Arista and Solèy set Kadie up on a blind date with a crew member from the science labs. Kadie was flattered, but had to explain to her friends that she was aromantic and wasn't interested in a date. Arista and Solèy apologized and asked her why she didn't tell them sooner, and Kadie explained to them that she didn't feel like it was necessary since it never came up in a conversation.

Hobbies

Collecting: Kadie considers herself somewhat of an avid collector. She owns enough collectibles to fill out at least six medium-sized boxes. The standard issue shelf in Kadie's crew quarters is full of these trinkets, both souvenirs from the different places she's visited, and geeky collectibles from the comic book store and conventions. She's extremely protective of all her collectibles, as she considers them "a real life collage of her memories". When Void ate cat food that made him levitate, he knocked Kadie's shelf over. Kadie was upset by this, but understood she couldn't blame her cat for an accident.

Writing: In her free time, Kadie is a prolific Insterstellar Ranger Syd fanfiction author, posting her work online under the screen name "LunarRanger24". She describes her writing as "extremely self-indulgent" but still enjoys publishing her writing online even if she's a bit embarrassed about it. Arista is her beta reader, who would help her correct mistakes and proof-read while bored at work. Arista accidentally sent one of Kadie's unfinished fanfiction chapters to the entire station crew after misclicking the chapter file when she meant to send the daily newsletter. Despite many people reading it, not many people knew it was Kadie who wrote it.

Traveling: Kadie's favorite thing is traveling to and exploring new places. She's traveled to every planet in the Solar System except for Mercury and Earth. Aside from those, she's visited Ganymede, Europa, Titan, the Asteroid Belt, Eris, the Kuiper Belt and has done an excursion to Proxima Centauri, but didn't stay for long enough to visit any of the planets in the system. She's tried to visit Earth all her life, and hopes being stationed in its orbit gives her the chance to visit this planet.

Cosplay: A hobby that, in a way, goes hand in hand with her fanfiction writing. Kadie enjoys dressing up as the characters from her favorite media, and has enough knowledge about sewing to make her own clothing pieces. She enjoys going to conventions in full cosplay, and always tries to convince friends or family to dress up with her. Kadie and Tal attended several conventions during their college years, both dressed up as the main characters from their favorite comic books.
